IIS Monitoring & Management
HQ's management of IIS is done entirely through the Windows perflib and metabase APIs, ensuring maximum visibility while using the same mechanisms Windows itself uses to manage the IIS instances and any virtual directories defined by the server.
HQ supports the collection and monitoring of over 100 different metrics exposed by IIS for both the server instance as well as each virtual directory defined in the server. Additionally, HQ's response time feature for IIS allows you to easily collect real per-request response time data for each virtual directory using the built in IIS logging facility.
HQ also provides out of the box abilities to track log and configuration files for each IIS server and virtual directory. This allows administrators to record and correlate any error, info, or debug level log message reported by the IIS server.
Administrators can also track the configuration files for IIS to measure the impact of changes as well as enforce change control policies. Any log or configuration event can be used to define alerts in HQ which can look for specific log messages or alert for unauthorized changes to the IIS configuration.
HQ's control capabilities for IIS use the Windows service control API's to provide complete control over IIS installations on any of the Windows versions supported by HQ.
